The Uasin Gishu County Administration, through the Department of Finance and Economic Planning, has put up proper measures in place to realise the critical objective of enhancing revenue collection and achieving the target of Sh 1.2 billion in revenue.
Speaking during an update meeting on the ongoing Rapid Results Initiative (RRI) exercise set for 30 days with a focused effort designed to improve efficiency and effectiveness in revenue collection, the CECM for Finance and Economic Planning, Micah Rogony, emphasised the importance of meeting daily for updates on financial figures and to ensure the county remains on track.
‘This initiative is crucial for bolstering the county’s economic stability and enabling the provision of essential services to residents,’ noted Rogony.
By the end of the 30 days, the objective of the county is to enhance revenue streams such as single business permits, medical certificates, and signage, among others, and achieve the set financial target, therefore contributing to the over
all economic growth and development of the county.
Through the RRI exercise, the County Government aims to streamline revenue collection processes, identify and address any bottlenecks, and implement best practices for financial management.
The CECM urged the compliance team to remain committed to the exercise, noting that the successful completion of this initiative will pave the way for sustainable economic planning and improved fiscal health for the county.
