The populations of Danané sensitized on the revision of the electoral list

Danané, The permanent secretary of the Independent Electoral Commission (CEI), Adjoumani Pierre, who is also CEI supervisor of the Tonpki region, raised awareness, on Wednesday November 16, 2022, in the prefecture of Danané, of the populations on the revision of the electoral list for the next elections.

“Talking about the issue of the revision of the electoral list is to seek to have a reliable and inclusive electoral file allowing all the sons and daughters of Côte d’Ivoire of voting age to express their civic duties”, indicated Mr. Adjoumani, explaining the modus operandi of the revision of the electoral list and the expectations of the body in charge of the elections.

He also specified that the revision of the electoral lists is a regular activity before inviting, men, women and especially the youth to appropriate the operation.

Concerning the administrative documents required for the operation, the official of the CEI made clarifications to the populations. For new applicants, the documents required are the national identity card or the identity certificate or the certificate of nationality accompanied by an administrative document with photo or the receipt of enrollment issued by the National Office of civil status and identification of Côte d’Ivoire (ONECI).

For transfers, petitioners wishing to change their place of voting must provide a voter’s card and a certificate of residence or a certificate of residence or a certificate of tax residence.

The withdrawal of deceased persons, and the change of name and persons deprived of their civic and political rights must be reported to the enumerators.

The Prefect of the Department of Danané, N’guessan Kouakou Germain, insisted on the mobilization of new adults and elderly people who had never been registered on the electoral rolls. He then put his constituents on a mission to continue raising awareness in their neighborhoods and villages.

The awareness session mobilized prefectural authorities, elected officials, political actors, executives, defense and security forces, directors and heads of public and private services, as well as community leaders, civil society organizations (CSOs) and organizations women and young people.

The revision of the electoral lists will take place from November 19 to December 10, 2022. The litigation will open in April 2023 and the final listing will be known in June 2023.
