Sahel: The process of developing the regional development plan (PRD) 2025-2029 launched in Dori


The special regional delegation of the Sahel organized in Dori, on Monday August 19, 2024, a regional workshop to launch the process of developing the regional development plan (PRD) 2025-2029. This workshop aimed to inform the different stakeholders and present the role of each actor involved.

According to the governor, also president of the Sahel regional special delegation, Lieutenant-Colonel Fabien Rodolphe Sorgho, the regional development plan is a planning tool and an action guide, the result of concerted reflection between the different actors.

According to the head of the Sahel region, the PRD constitutes a decision-making framework for the special regional delegation and its partners.

According to Lieutenant-Colonel Sorgho, it is because of the capital importance of the PRD that the special regional delegation, with the support of technical and financial partners, took the initiative to develop it in order to coordinate the actions of development.

The governor urged the various stakeholders to f
ully invest in the process of developing the PRD, so that it results in planning capable of boosting the development of the Sahel region.

This workshop to officially launch the process will be followed, according to the regional director of economy and development of the Sahel, Harouna Kaboré, by several activities.

Mr. Kaboré indicated that this act will be followed by the formation of an ad hoc commission, the deployment of the editorial committee for the collection of data necessary for the development of the diagnostic report, the organization of provincial workshops and the development of a provisional document, which will then be refined and adopted as the regional development plan (PRD) for the Sahel region.
