Sachangwan Health Centre in Rongai Sub-County is making waves not only for its quality healthcare services but also for its commitment to environmental sustainability.
The facility, a cornerstone of community health, has become a model for eco-friendly practices, demonstrating that health centers can be both effective and environmentally responsible.

His efforts have led to a significant transformation of the facility, making it cleaner, greener, and more sustainable.
During today’s visit, County Executive Committee (CEC) Member for Health, Ms. Roselyn Mungai said the health center offers a wide range of essential healthcare services, including comprehensive TB screenings and consistent follow-ups for patients enrolled in Comprehensive Care Clinics.
She also highlighted that it caters for a large patient population, handling an average of 1500-1800 patients and 15-18 deliveries e
ach month. To promote maternal health, the staff organizes regular open days, inviting expectant mothers to tour the maternity wing and learn about vital maternity services.
Ms. Mungai, praised the centre’s staff for their dedication and teamwork. She specifically commended Nurse-in-Charge Emily Rugut for her leadership in ensuring the facility’s continued success.

Apart from that, she observed that green spaces and clean air can positively impact patient well-being and recovery.
And, it sets an example for the communities around by demonstrating a commitment to environmental sustainability, hence health centers inspiring others to adopt eco-friendly behaviors.
