Abidjan, Nov 17 – Professor Diongue Khadim of the Cheick Anta Diop University of Dakar (UCAD) has won the André Gouazé prize at the 21st aggregation competition of the African and Malagasy Council for Higher Education (CAMES) rewarding the major of the candidates.
Mr. Diongue brilliantly passed this competition, thus becoming the new Associate Professor of Parasitology and Mycology at CAMES and major of the jury.
For the winner, this prize sanctioned by a check for two million FCFA will “allow him to relaunch further on the path previously traced to help patients who need his services”.
The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Prof. Adama Diawara, on behalf of the President of the Republic, Alassane Ouattara, and Prime Minister Patrick Achi, expressed Côte d’Ivoire’s pride in having hosted this “prestigious competition” which fits well with the vision of the Head of State in terms of higher education and scientific research.
The Acting Secretary General of CAMES, Abou Napon, for his part, launched an appeal to all the heads of higher education institutions to formalize the preparation centers for the various CAMES competitions in order to help future candidates .
The proclamation of the results and the distinction in the CAMES International Order of Academic Palms (OIPA) recorded the presence of the Minister of National Education and Literacy, Pr Mariatou Koné, the Ambassador of Niger as well as many other personalities.
A total of 388 candidates from 13 countries and 26 universities presented this competition. A success rate of 84.54% was recorded. Of the 63 candidates presented by Côte d’Ivoire, 60 were admitted, representing a rate of 95.24%.
