DARWIN, Australie, 04 août 2021 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — La Darwin Aboriginal Art Fair (DAAF) ouvrira le vendredi 6 août via sa plateforme numérique de pointe, permettant aux publics du monde entier de découvrir les créateurs autochtones et insulaires du détroit de Torrès en Australie.

Présentée par la Darwin Aboriginal Art Fair Foundation (DAAFF), qui en est à sa 15e édition, la DAAF se déroulera du 6 au 11 août. Le programme comprend une foire d’art numérique très attendue et un programme public en ligne qui inclut des masterclasses et des discussions avec les artistes.

La DAAFF présentera également deux événements de mode des Premières nations, dont les National Indigenous fashion Awards (NIFA) annuels. L’annonce des lauréats sera diffusée en direct sur les réseaux sociaux de NITV le 3 août, directement depuis le Darwin Convention Centre, en Australie. L’éclatant défilé Country to Couture aura également lieu le 4 août.

La DAAF est reconnue internationalement comme un programme de classe mondiale et rend hommage à la plus ancienne culture vivante du monde. C’est le seul événement de ce type qui met en relation des artistes, des performeurs et des centres artistiques des régions les plus reculées d’Australie avec des publics nationaux et internationaux, désireux d’acquérir des œuvres étonnantes et authentiques.

La directrice exécutive de la DAAFF, Claire Summers souligne que le programme a des retombées positives importantes pour les communautés indigènes d’Australie, puisque 100 % de l’argent issu des ventes est reversé aux centres artistiques, aux artistes et à leurs communautés.

L’an dernier, notre offre en ligne nous a permis d’atteindre un public mondial d’une ampleur nouvelle pour nous. »

La DAAF met en relation les publics autochtones et non autochtones grâce à son événement unique visant à célébrer le patrimoine dynamique des peuples des Premières nations australiennes. Elle constitue pour les artistes et les créateurs un lieu de rencontre important, où ils peuvent faire découvrir leurs histoires et leurs traditions par le biais du médium de leur choix.
