A woman in Busia County who gave birth to quadruplets over the weekend at Busia County Referral Hospital is appealing to the government and well-wishers to help her take care of the children. Topista Anyango from Nambale Sub County said that her spouse died in January this year when she was three months pregnant and that she is unable to raise the kids. ‘I came to learn that I had quadruplets in May this year after undergoing scanning during my clinic visits,’ she said. Stella Oese, a nurse at the facility, said that the newborns weighed 1590 grams, 1435 grams, 1300 grams, and 1400 grams, respectively. ‘The normal birth weight is normally 2.5 kgs and above, so we are here to help the children achieve at least 2kg before they are discharged from this facility,’ she said. Oese appealed to well-wishers to help the young mother by donating manufactured baby milk so that she could attain the required weight. Busia County woman Representative Catherine Omanyo sent her donation through a representative from her office, and she has promised to help the mother with the raising of the kids in any way possible.
