Man Traumatized After Son In-Law Defiles Matrimonial Bed

An ex-prison officer from Thika is a traumatized man and has been forced to abandon his house after his estranged son-in-law sneaked into the house while he was away, engaged in binge drinking and ended up sleeping in his matrimonial bed.

The complainant, Benson Wahome Mathenge says he will only find peace once his bedroom has been cleansed of the abomination by elders from the Kikuyu community to prevent evil spirits from befalling his family.

Wilson Mburu Maina, the offender, is said to have sneaked into his father-in-law’s house in Thika over the weekend by jumping through a perimeter wall when no one was in the home, drunk several bottles of beer and slept.

That day, Mathenge was on a tour with his family in Nakuru.

Winfred Wahome, Maina’s ex-wife is said to be the one who found Maina dead asleep on his father’s bed.

Winfred says she had separated with the father of her two kids a year ago and wondered what he was up to.

‘I had come to run a few errands in my father’s house that morning only to be
stunned as it was reeking of alcohol, yet my father is not an alcoholic. I immediately alerted the bodaboda guy who had dropped me and also reported to police officers from the nearby Makongeni police station.

We got into the house and found several empty bottles of beer and my ex-husband dead asleep on my father’s bed. I then alerted my father who cut short his trip and returned home the same day,’ she says.

Police arrested and charged Maina with trespass but the suspect’s father-in-law wants a more serious offence levelled against him for defiling his bed.

Maina was found with some clothes in a bag and a hammer which he had hidden under the bed.

Mathenge says he can’t sleep in the house before Kikuyu elders administer a cleansing ritual saying it was a taboo and a great abomination that is unheard of.

He vowed not to release Maina’s clothes, shoes and his mobile phone that he left behind until after a cleansing ceremony is conducted.

Meanwhile Winfred wants protection from her ex-husband who she says
has assaulted and threatened to kill her on several occasions and added she has since reported the incidents to the police.

She alleges that her ex-husband has also attempted to abduct their children from school.

We could not reach Maina for comment since his phone had been confiscated by his father-in-law.
