Leaders in Kendu Bay town have thanked the government for gazetting the new Rachuonyo North Sub County.
The leaders, led by Nuhu Abdul Masoud, Supkem Secretary, Homabay Chapter, said the new administrative unit would bring services closer to the people, especially for members of the Muslim community in Kendu Bay Town who experienced difficulties accessing government services.
‘I feel a lot of pride and happiness because of that,’ said Masoud, who thanked President Ruto’s administration for honouring the Kendu Bay town people by giving them a new location and two sub-locations.
He also thanked Prof. Kithure Kindiki, CS for Interior and National Administration, for accepting their proposal for the new location, PS Interior Raymond Ogolla, regional commissioner, county and deputy county commissioners, and all the local people who participated in making this process a success.
The SUPKEM leader also appreciated the Kenya Kwanza government’s good gesture and asked the residents to embrace the location, which
he said will create employment for the people.
He said they now have the position of a chief, two assistant chiefs, and even community elders, which will be filled.
A resident, Ker Nyondiko Ong’adi, also thanked the National Government for giving them a new location: Magut Kanyasolo and its two sub-locations, Kanyasolo and Kandiang.
‘As Magut and Kanyasolo people, we have always asked to be considered for a location,’ said Ker Nyondiko, adding, ‘With all our Muslim brothers in Kendubay town, we are very happy, and we thank the government for listening to our cries.’
His sentiments were echoed by another resident, Vitalis Simba, who said the new location and two sub-locations bring services closer to the people.
