With brain, brawn and versatility Kisii peeled off St Mary’s High School 8-5 after producing a scintillating display to wade off a tough challenge from their opponents in a tie played at the Kisumu Boys High School.

Despite the dusty and sweaty weather in the lakeside region, Kisii Captain Morgan Ochiel attributed their win to prayers, hard work and discipline.

‘We got a lot of morale when we defeated Maseno High School in the semis and we have set our eyes on bagging the National Rugby trophy,’ Ochiel said in a post-match interview with KNA Sports.

In the girl’s tie, Kisumu Girls humbled Koru Girls to set a date with other regional winners in a tournament to be held in Machakos.
