KICOSCA Ladies’ Clinches EALASCA Volleyball Finals

The Kenya Inter-County Sports and Cultural Association (KICOSCA) women defeated their County Assemblies Sports Association (CASA-A) counterparts 3-0 to win the volleyball finals played at the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Sports ground in Kisumu Wednesday.

In the East Africa Local Authorities Sports and Cultural Association (EALASCA) game, KICOSCA registered in the three sets (25-23,25-24 and 25-22) respectively.

Captain Grace Kimeli expressed her joy in winning as she attributed it to teamwork and focus.

‘Despite going to the camp late, we managed to humble the CASA ladies who are full of veterans in the game,” Kimeli said during an interview with KNA after the win.

In the Netball finals, Kenya silenced Uganda (35-9).

Harriet Vike Odera, player and coordinator said that it was a nice win given that in the previous match, they had also won 24-12.

‘I am also glad that we also had enough time to prepare well in Nakuru and Kakamega for the EALASCA games,” she informed.

Similarly, in the Local Authority Netbal
l finals, KICOSCA 1 pipped KICOSCA 2 (21-11).

KICOSCA men and women grabbed the Tug-of-War’s first position, with CASA and Kampala (KCCA) settling for runners-up and third-place positions respectively.

The 23 EALASCA games began on the 26th of January under the theme; ‘Building Synergies Through Sports and Culture.’
