JNP 2022: Sikensi women celebrate peace through sport

Sikensi, Teachers and women from public and private services in Sikensi celebrated peace on Tuesday, November 15, 2022, through a gala football match organized by the local sports department, on the occasion of the commemoration of the national day of peace.

At the end of the match, the “EPV Novator” team beat “Commune de Sikensi” two goals to one, after a penalty shootout.

Young girls also competed in handball. A match won by “Commune de Sikensi” at the expense of “EIDA”, with a score of 7 goals to 3.

The sponsor of the sports day, N’Gata Brié Joseph, Deputy Mayor of Sikensi, congratulated the ladies who contribute to the consolidation of peace through sport.

The representative of the prefect of Sikensi, Mobio Innocent, presented the interest of women’s sport as a factor of unity and peace.

The departmental sports director of Sikensi, N’Zi Koffi Hiacynthe, for his part, invited the audience to celebrate development through sport, forgetting the consequences of previous crises that the country has gone through.

A delegation from the NGO Agir pour la paix et le développement (APD), chaired by Maurille Komenan, took part in the women’s sports festival in Sikensi.
