Gitura Sub-Location To Be Promoted To Location

Igembe South deputy county commissioner Noah Kibet Tonui has said that he is lobbying for Gitura sub-location to be promoted to a full location.

Speaking at Gitura primary school during the Madaraka day celebrations, Tonui maintained that the move is a commitment to improve accessibility to government services which will be brought closer to Mwananchi once the exercise is complete.

The elevation of Gitura sub-location will also see development of infrastructure for instance better roads, schools and healthcare facilities.

‘The elevation of Gitura will also come along with many benefits including improved infrastructure and job opportunities.’ said the DCC.

The sub-county Boss emphasized his strong commitment to eradicate illicit brew in the area adding that, ‘We are not going to spare any culprit suspected to engage in the menace.’

‘The illicit alcohol has significantly ruined families, increased social problems and threatened health among many. We will not sit and watch our loved ones perish due to illi
cit alcohol,’ he warned.

Tonui further noted that the plans are underway to ensure all chiefs within the Maua Municipality have offices alongside their assistants to enhance effective governance.

He stressed the importance of law, peace and order and urged the residents to be vigilant and report any suspected criminal behavior to ensure justice and safety.
