The Cuban Republic plans, in partnership with the Luxembourg Agency for Development Cooperation, to develop cooperation projects in different areas in Burkina Faso.
The Cuban Ambassador to Burkina, Nadieska Navarro, said yesterday Wednesday during an audience with the Minister Delegate for Regional Cooperation Stella Eldine Kabré/Kaboré that her country plans to provide its expertise to develop projects in Burkina in partnership with the Luxembourg agency for the mobilization of the required resources.
“We can develop the projects in a trilateral manner; that is to say that Cuba will provide the expertise and Luxembourg will take charge of mobilizing the financial resources,” said Ms. Navarro, quoted by the communications service of the Burkinabe Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
She “expressed her interest in engaging Cuba to develop cooperation projects in different areas in Burkina,” the same source said.
Minister Kabré praised the excellence of Burkina-Cuba relations and hoped that these projects that rem
ain to be defined will be aligned with the government’s priorities and in line with the interests of the populations.
The Cuban Republic has already expressed its desire to expand its bilateral relations with Burkina Faso, within the framework of South-South cooperation and on projects that have an impact on the lives of the respective peoples.
Its diplomatic representative Ana Maria Chongo Torreblanca recalled in 2019, before leaving Burkina, that her country has “enormous potential” in the training of human capital, particularly in health services, the biopharmaceutical industry, general technical sciences or education that could interest the Country of upright men.
Diplomatic relations between Burkina Faso and the Republic of Cuba date back to December 1975. They were strengthened under the first Burkinabe revolution led by Captain Thomas Sankara.
