Trans Nzoia County Government Staff are set to sign performance contracts intended to improve service delivery in the County government.
This was revealed by County Secretary Truphosa Amere during training of top county staff in Kitale where she explained the move is meant to enhance efficiency, accountability and boost service delivery.
Urging employees not to treat the tool as a witch-hunting scheme once rolled, Amere said the initiative is expected to be undertaken by all county staff irrespective of their position.
‘This exercise will have to be undertaken by all county employees. No one is exceptional,’ she said.
Director Human Resource Management Imelda Agoi present, urged senior county staff to stop frequenting procurement offices to chase deals. She said this eventually compromises service delivery besides creating conflict of interest.
To help improve service delivery and ensure career growth, Agoi urged participants to consider furthering their studies whenever an opportunity arise.
‘For you
to upgrade your studies it’s not a must you pick the most expensive colleges, there are some online courses where one can pay as little as Sh100 per day and will end up being trained, get a certificate, a diploma or degree in whichever field,’ she said.
During the training, senior county officials drawn from all the departments got a chance to learn more about performance management, service delivery, among other topics of interest.
