Songon, An awareness caravan called Operation “Empty Drawers”, was launched in Yopougon Kuwait to popularize the reforms in construction, housing and urban planning, during the fourth stage of the third edition of the Open Day of the Ministry of Construction, Housing and Urban Planning.

This activity, which took place on Friday May 12, 2023, was an opportunity for the agents of the Ministry of Construction, Housing and Urbanism, to meet the populations and all the users of their services in order to inform them and raise awareness on the Final Concession Order (ACD), the new reforms, the Building Permit and the Secure Residential Lease Contract, the ways of accelerating the issuance of the available deeds but also to exchange with them on concerns in the sector.

‘Through this caravan, the Ministry of Construction, Housing and Urbanism wants to be closer to the populations, their realities and to understand the difficulties encountered in the management of urban development in the municipality of Yopougon. So that together we can find solutions,’ explained the minister’s chief of staff, Kouamé Brou Alexandre.

“The presence of the Ministry of Construction, Housing and Urbanism at your side symbolizes the government’s desire to be closer to your concerns and to reaffirm its commitment to sustainably control urbanization which is increasing more more in our country and in particular in the commune of Yopougon’, he added.

The representative of Minister Bruno Koné recalled that the government’s vision in terms of construction, housing and town planning, consists globally in offering the populations a quality service, by ensuring that they have a decent, healthier, better living environment. structured and resilient.

Exchanges, information sessions on the procedures and functioning of the MCLU, the popularization of reforms in construction, housing and urban planning, are the various articulations that animated this day on the ground of the Yopougon Kuwait sub-district. .

This caravan called operation “Empty drawers”, under the theme “Improvement of the living environment of the populations”, was launched on Thursday March 6, 2023, in Jacqueville.

Yopougon represents the largest commune in the district of Abidjan with an area of ??approximately 163 km². Its population has increased from 1,071,543 inhabitants in 2014 to 1,571,065 inhabitants in 2021 (RGPH 2021). In eight years, its population has increased by around 50%, with its share of pressure on all of the town’s infrastructures.
