Divo, The mayor of Divo, Kouakou Amédé, visited certain constituted bodies of the commune, in particular the traditional indigenous chieftaincy Dida, the leaders of allochthonous communities, the Christian and Muslim religious guides, to whom he asked to work to contribute to peaceful local elections in 2023.
“The Lôh-Djiboua region is an extremely difficult region. There are often a lot of problems at election time,” recalled the mayor, before asking each of the communities met to ensure that the region does not experience the hardships experienced in the past during elections. .

Amédé Kouakou spoke, at the residence of the chief of the Dida chiefs, as much as at the president of the indigenous chiefs, of the current context at the political level in the region, after his designation by his party, the Rally of Houphouetists for Democracy and Peace. (RHDP), as a candidate in the regional election.
At the end of this appointment, the head of the traditional Dida chiefs, Tegbo Aliko, welcomed this candidacy. A few days later, traditional Dida leaders gathered in Lakota made a statement to express their opposition to this designation. However, explains Mayor Amédé Kouakou, all the traditional chiefs of Lakota, including the dissident group, met at his home in Abidjan on Wednesday January 4, 2023, to apologize and reaffirm their support for him.
Amédé Kouakou explained that he had the confidence of President Alassane Ouattara who wanted him to be the RHDP candidate for the regional elections in Lôh-Djiboua. Another candidate will be nominated to replace him for the municipal election. “Pray and ensure that the regional and municipal elections take place in peace in the region,” pleaded the mayor.
The spokesperson for the Dida chiefdom, Bobi Nonkanan, and the president of the association of allochthonous communities of Divo, Adou Antoine, reassured the mayor of their commitment to do everything possible for peaceful elections.
