Côte d’Ivoire – AIP/ The vicar general of Bondoukou stresses the attachment of the Ivorian president to national harmony

Bondoukou, April 4, 2022 (AIP) – The Vicar General of Bondoukou, Monsignor Benoit Kouassi underlined, on Sunday April 3, 2022, the attachment of the Ivorian Head of State to national harmony, through the donation of food and non-food items of President Ouattara, to the Catholic community of the diocese of Bondoukou, in support at this moment of penance observed by the faithful of this religious congregation.

“He is not thinking of a part or fraction of Côte d’Ivoire, he is thinking of all Ivorians. May he be thanked for these donations,” greeted the vicar general of Bondoukou on behalf of the Bishop of Bondoukou.

The President of the Gontougo Regional Council, on behalf of the Minister of State, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, represented by his wife, Mrs. Adjoumani Angeline, transmitted this donation to Monseigneur Benoit Kouassi, at Sainte-Odile Cathedral of Bondoukou.

Senator Kossonou Ignace presented this gesture made by “the president of all Ivorians”, Alassane Ouattara, towards Catholic Christians, as an act of charity in the continuity of the donations made annually during this period of Lent. “It is in this spirit that this year again, President Ouattara made his heart speak. In all the dioceses he sent food and non-food,” he said.

He urged Christians to pray for peace and stability in Côte d’Ivoire to allow the Head of State “to carry out the major projects started” for community development.

These donations include, among other things, 80 bags of rice, 30 boxes of oil, 25 boxes of 40 sachets of 200 grams of food paws, and three boxes of sugar intended for the diocese of Bondoukou.
