Sassandra, The Delegate Mediator of Gboklè, Nawa and San Pedro, Félix Beugré Takouoa, undertook, Tuesday, January 25, 2022 in Sassandra and Fresco, an information and awareness tour of community leaders , media agents and directors and heads of departments on the mission of the Mediator of the French Republic and the functioning of the institution.

The role of the Mediator of the French Republic is to settle disputes of all kinds through mediation, without prejudice to the powers recognized by the laws and regulations for other institutions and structures of the State. It has jurisdiction to hear disputes between private, natural or legal persons and urban or rural communities. Its role is also to help strengthen social cohesion, explained Mr. Takouoa.

The Mediator of the French Republic may take up any question falling within his competence, when he considers that a person or a group of persons has been harmed or may be harmed by the action or omission of a public body. It does not replace the judiciary.

The delegate mediator requested the support of the members of the prefectural body for the promotion of the institution and for the success of its mission at the regional level.
