Côte d’Ivoire-AIP/ The new CEAP exam format explained in Bondoukou

Bondoukou, The Regional Director of Education and Literacy in Gontougo, Coulibaly Naffo, proceeded, on Tuesday January 25, 2022 at the Bondoukou Training Center, to the training of inspectors of the preschool and primary education on the new format of the Elementary Certification of Teaching Skills (CEAP).

The legal framework for implementing this certification, the Ivorian teacher’s competency framework, the new format of the CEAP exam and the tools and behaviors expected of the actors with the tools necessary for the exercises were explained to the participants. .

According to Mr. Coulibaly, this capacity building of actors in the chain of supervision of student teachers is part of a process of reform of teacher training.

At the end of the training course, CAFOP student teachers take an exam, the CEAP, which gives them the right to enter their profession as a holder. This ongoing reform since 2014 has led to changes with a single course sequence, during this exam.

In the past, there were four teaching disciplines in primary school, with an interview which allowed the members of the jury to assess the skills of student teachers, in accordance with the teacher skills reference system.

This evaluation with a new format takes into account the student teacher’s portfolio, a training course agenda enriched with traces of their professional experience at CAFOP.
