Côte d’Ivoire-AIP/ The mayor of Tiassalé welcomes the subsidy granted to primary schools in his locality
Tiassalé, Jan 23, 2022 ( AIP) – The mayor of Tiassalé, Assalé Tiémoko Antoine, welcomed on Friday January 21, 2022 the subsidy granted to primary schools in the department of Tiassalé through the funds made available to the management committees of schools (COGES).
For the Deputy Mayor of Tiassalé, by granting a subsidy to all public primary schools, the State is putting an end to an injustice while relieving the populations. It is therefore rightly that he hailed the President of the Republic who has taken on his own a fight that he has continued to fight for almost ten years.
Assalé Tiémoko, reassured the parents of pupils and the populations of the commune of the continuation of the total assumption of responsibility for the other ancillary costs (photos, medical examination, right to examine the certificate of elementary primary studies, compositions) for all public primary schools by the town hall. He asked the local heads of the COGES for greater transparency in the management of the funds made available to them.
Assalé Tiémoko led a pioneering fight to have the State and local authorities cover COGES costs. The President of the Republic Alassane Ouattara endorsed this fight on December 31, 2020 through the end of contributions linked to COGES fees by parents of students.
