The mayor of Soubré, Traoré Lassina, offered food to the Muslim community of his city, as support for the Ramadan fast, Friday March 24, 2023, on the sidelines of the prayer in Soubre mosque. This is rice and sugar, worth a total of seven million FCFA, said the second deputy mayor of Soubré, Adama Diarrassouba, representing the first magistrate, Traoré Lassina, at the symbolic handover ceremony, held in the precincts of the great mosque of the city. “This donation is a mark of support and solidarity with the Muslim community in this blessed month of Ramadan,” said Mr. Diarrassouba. According to him, Ramadan is a month of sharing, and the mayor could only support his constituents during this period. On behalf of the Muslim community, the imam of the great mosque, Abou Bamba, regional president of the Superior Council of Imams (COSIM) expressed their gratitude to Mayor Traoré Lassina. He described the donation as “highly humanitarian and symbolic”, before formulating prayers for the success of the missions of the municipality. The food will be distributed among all the Muslim structures in the city, assured Mr. Diarrassouba.
