A delegation from the Guidance and Scholarships Department (DOB) of the Ministry of National Education and Literacy (MENA), led by the Deputy Director in charge of the school curriculum and monitoring of students, Tiécoura Kouamé, exchanged, Monday, May 09, 2022, with the actors and partners of the local education system, the administrative, religious, customary and community authorities at the village hall of the Regional Council of Guiglo, on the orientations and online assignments in sixth and second.

This information and awareness-raising meeting is part of an information and awareness-raising campaign for the national educational community on the new procedure for assigning and guiding students in sixth and second grades undertaken by the DOB, since Wednesday May 05, until Wednesday May 18, 2022.

The head of the Cavally region delegation, Mr. Tiécoura, presented to the assembly the importance of the new process for assigning students to sixth grade, which has been done online since 2018. According to him, this process gives , the latitude for parents of pupils to freely choose the establishment of their children from CM2 classes admitted to sixth grade.

“The results obtained over the past two years, showing a rate of 90% in 2020, and 94% in 2021, have motivated the ministry to launch, for the next school year, the pilot project for the orientation of students in second year”, a- he says. With the support, to allow the audience to understand and appropriate the online orientation mechanism, a slide film projection.

The Deputy Director explained that this process is an innovation for sixth grade assignments this year because instead of two stages when it was launched, students and parents of students will now have to deal with three stages. And so, from the first day of the opening of the operation, students who have obtained an overall score ranging between 153 and 170 points, will first be authorized to make their assignment requests. When on the second day, it will be the turn of those whose total points are between 136 and 152 points, followed by all the other candidates during the third stage which begins on the third day.

This meeting recorded the presence of a representative of the World Bank (WB), financial partner, through the project to improve governance for the delivery of basic services to citizens (PAGDS).
