Côte d’Ivoire-AIP/ The 2nd edition of the Phapaco-festival announced for April 16, 17 and 18, 2022 in Bamoro

Bouaké, March 22, 2022 (AIP)- The 2nd edition of pharis paquinou comedy festival (Phapaco-festival), the cultural festival of the pharis canton, will take place on April 16, 17 and 18, 2022 in Bamoro (about 10km north of Bouaké , route de Katiola), announced the general commissioner of this cultural event, Konan Kouassi Guy Martial (known as Guyzo sans frontières), during a conference held on Monday March 21, 2022.

According to him, this 2nd edition of the Phapaco -festival, placed under the theme “With Phapaco 2, let’s wake up our traditional dances”, will be an opportunity to promote the cultural values of the Pharis canton (with 72 villages) and to strengthen the social cohesion.

“Our goal is to promote our cultural values because that’s what identifies us. We have our values, we have our tradition, we have our know-how, and therefore everyone will come to express themselves and highlight this cultural potential that the Pharis canton abounds, ”he explained.

The program includes traditional dances, football (maracana tournament), a beauty contest (miss awoulaba), a culinary contest and performances by traditional-modern Baoulé artists. Alongside culture and sport, the 2nd edition of the Phapaco -festival will also be marked by social actions through a donation of baby toiletry kits.

The 2,000 festival-goers, from 16 villages in the Pharis canton, will also compete in theater talent. They will have to, through theater scenes, sensitize the populations against “the illicit sale of land”, a real social scourge in almost all the towns and villages of the Gbêkê region.

Two renowned Ivorian comedians, in this case, Omega David and Maréchal Zongo, who are the artistic sponsors of the festival, will also come to cheer up the populations of the village of Bamoro and other localities of the Pharis canton.
