Bouna, Apr 29, 2023 (AIP)-The sub-prefect of Youndouo, N’dri Hervé Aliali, called for crop diversification to avoid a food crisis in his administrative district, during a meeting with farmers. Mr. N’Dri pointed out, Friday, April 28, 2023, that the arable land in Youndouo is now occupied by vast cashew fields. There is no room for food crops such as yams and rice. “Dear parents, you are preparing for a food catastrophe. Today, you complain about the purchase price of cashew, but you no longer grow what you need to consume,” he told them, urging them to prioritize the practice of food crops.
