Côte d’Ivoire-AIP/ Preparatory meeting for the 27th edition of the National Day of Peace in Bouaké

The Minister of Reconciliation and National Cohesion, Kouadio Konan Bertin (known as KKB), chaired a meeting on Saturday March 25, 2023 on the organization of the 27th National Day of Peace, Remembrance and Forgiveness to be held on November 15 in Bouaké. He took the opportunity of this working session with the living forces of Bouaké to officially announce the holding of these festivities in the capital of the Gbêkê region. “We came to Bouaké to announce to our parents here that Bouaké has been chosen by the Ministry of Reconciliation and National Cohesion to host the next edition of the National Day of Peace, this time coupled with that of remembrance. and forgiveness. At the request of the Head of State, all Ivorians must take ownership of this process, agree to go to reconciliation, to go to forgiveness, but in remembrance,” he said. For the success of this celebration, Bertin Konan Kouadio instructed elected officials and executives, the prefectural body and all communities, especially customary and religious authorities to reflect on the content of these November 15 festivities. The Minister of Transport, Amadou Koné, and the Mayor of Bouaké, Nicolas Djibo, who were at his side expressed their satisfaction and thanked the first person in charge of reconciliation and cohesion for the choice of their city, in view of the celebration of the feast of peace edition 2023. “We are at your disposal, Minister. We will work to make this celebration a success,” reassured Amadou Koné, advocating the organization of a listening forum to collect the aspirations and expectations of the populations of the Gbêkê region to settle all disputes. Established by Decree No. 96-205 of March 7, 1996, the National Day of Peace aims to promote and strengthen the culture of peace in the minds of populations living on Ivorian soil.
