Côte d’Ivoire-AIP / More than 83,000 people targeted by the vaccination campaign against covid-19 in Odienné

The vaccination campaign against covid-19, over the period from December 10 to 20, 2021, targets, in Odienné, 83,765 inhabitants, informed the regional director of Health of Kabadougou, Dr Alfred Yao Ablo.

This number, according to the health authority, corresponds to the objective assigned to the locality, in accordance with the national ambition, supporting the campaign, of 70% of populations protected against the disease.

As of November 7, 2021, 8,521 people had been vaccinated against covid-19 in Odienné. 25,576 received a first dose of vaccine. Across the Kabadougou region, out of a population of over 200,000, 13,1333 people were fully vaccinated when 36,881 received a first dose.

The prefectural authorities during a meeting on Thursday December 2021 relating to the vaccination campaign which will begin, urged the officials of the various administrations and the community leaders, invited, to take ownership of it. Côte d’Ivoire, as of December 8, 2021, had 61,857 confirmed cases of covid-19 including 60,909 people cured, 706 deaths and 236 active cases. December 7, 32,848 doses were administered for a total of 4,718,017 doses from 1 st March of the year.

In Odienné, 88 positive cases (28 in 2020 and 60 in 2021) of covid have been detected to date for one death.
