Côte d’Ivoire-AIP/ More than 1000 vulnerable people received government support in 2021

Odienné, More than 1000 people, in a vulnerable situation, benefited, in 2021, from government support, through social assistance, said the Minister of Employment and Social protection, Adama Kamara.

Support either medical or food or concerning the financing of income-generating activities, specified the Minister of Social Protection, also indicating that 3,500 people who were victims of disaster also received state aid in 2021.

The latter was speaking during a ceremony to present checks to 210 women from the 13 communes of the Denguélé district who had received individual financial support of 200,000 CFA francs for the start-up of a project or for the strengthening of their activity. That is an overall envelope of 42 million CFA francs.

As part of the aid and relief granted each year by the State, through the administration of social protection, to vulnerable people chosen after examination of the case by an interministerial commission.

“You were selected following the social surveys, the examination of the relevance of your requests. Be happy and proud of the support your country gives you,” Minister Adama Kamara said to the beneficiaries, urging them to work.

The headquarters of the Kabadougou Regional Council hosted, on Friday January 21, 2022, the ceremony of handing over the checks to the beneficiaries, in the presence of many populations and administrative and political authorities, in particular the Minister for Women, the Family and the Child and mayor of Odienné, Nassénéba Touré and the prefects of the Kabadougou and Folon regions, accompanied by a large number of collaborators.
