Côte d’Ivoire-AIP/Miss Anzan Marie-Christelle wins the Miss mathematics competition in Adiaké
Adiaké, Apr 04, 2022 (AIP) – Miss Anzan Marie-Christelle, enrolled in third class at Konan Camille Modern High School in Adiaké, won the first edition of the “Miss Mathematics” competition in Adiaké after the proclamation of the results, Saturday April 02, 2022, in the wedding hall of the town hall in the presence of the godfather, the deputy mayor Hien Sié and the officials of the mathematical society of Côte d’Ivoire (SMCI).
The Miss Mathematics obtained an average of 12/20 while her first two runners-up, Tchapo Nissi Reine-Victoire from Sainte Marie College in Adiaké and Coulibaly Valérie Fatoumata from the Modern College of Assinie Mafia respectively obtained 12/20 and 11/ 20.
She received a crown, a lot of books and annals and the sum of 400,000 FCFA. These two runners-up received 250,000 FCFA and 150,000 CFA with also lots of books and annals.
According to the Deputy Secretary General of the SMCI, Camara Aboubacar, this “Miss Mathematics” competition promotes the culture of excellence among young girls in third grade private and public secondary schools in the department. It also makes it possible to motivate and encourage the young girl from Adiaké to move towards the scientific series and then embrace a mathematical career.
The Miss mathematics competition was instituted in Côte d’Ivoire in 2000 by the SMCI directed by Pr Saliou Touré.
