Côte d’Ivoire-AIP/ Minister Vagondo Diomandé on a tour of the various alert and rescue posts

Abidjan, The Minister of Interior and Security, Lieutenant General Vagondo Diomandé, toured the various alert and rescue posts deployed in the district of Abidjan, as part of securing the end-of-year celebrations.

According to an information note sent to the AIP, Mr. Diomandé encouraged Friday, December 30, 202, the men to carry out this security mission for peaceful celebrations.

It was a great opportunity to inform the populations about all the measures that have been taken not only to ensure that the country is in peace and security, but specifically so that this end of the year 2022 takes place in peace.

“Today, we have a total of 17,720 people who are for this operation, all forces combined. On the police side, we have deployed 6,000 men,” he said.

The Minister explained that ”his men” will be responsible for ensuring that effective patrols are carried out in all neighborhoods and securing all festive places (places of worship, axes, crossroads) and also ensuring that crime can be reduced.

To do this, the army corps general, Vagondo Diomandé requests the good collaboration of the populations with ”his police”.

In the same vein, the Minister of the Interior and Security urged motorists to scrupulously respect the highway code, speed limits and avoid drink-driving, because it is often in a state of drunk that big accidents happen.
