Côte d’Ivoire-AIP/Minister Ouloto visits three major development sites in Guiglo

Guiglo, Apr 04, 2022 (AIP) – Minister Anne Désirée Ouloto, also president of the Cavally Regional Council, visited on Saturday March 02, 2022, three major development projects in the city of Guiglo, capital of the Cavally region ( West), in order to soak up the progress and completion of the work in progress.

These are the construction sites of the Regional Hospital Center (CHR), in the extension and rehabilitation phase, of the new modern two-lane bridge which will replace the old single-lane bridge built since the 1960s, as well as that of the girls’ college practically completed in the village of Yaoudé. College that is just waiting for some finishing work to be functional.

Accompanied by vice presidents, regional advisers, elected officials and executives, members of the traditional chieftaincy, Ms. Ouloto went to all these government sites to realize, for herself, the state of progress. of these works.

The first site visited is that of the CHR, where, according to the site manager, Aka jean Guy Rémi, the first part of the work, which consists of building new services, in particular the emergency, imaging and mammography services, are practically completed with a hospitalization capacity of 60 beds,

Still according to Mr. Aka, this first phase, the work of which will be submitted in the coming months, will give right to a second phase where the current services will be evacuated to the new premises in order to allow a thorough rehabilitation of the old buildings.

At the end of the work, the Guiglo CHR will fully play its role as a reference hospital in the Cavally region, with a capacity of at least 120 hospital beds, and renovated laboratories and operating theaters with an improved technical platform thanks to to next-generation devices.

After the hospital, course was put on the construction site of the Bridge over the N’Zo river, at the entrance to the city. On this site, the size of the works amazed all the visitors. In reality, according to the chief engineer, Sangaré Mohamed, the backfilling is very advanced and the support pillars will soon come out of the ground.

The last stage of this day of infrastructure visits was reserved for the first school for young girls in Yaoudé. At this level, according to the technical director of the Regional Council, Franck Méi André, the works at the level of the administrative offices, specialized rooms and classrooms are finished and ready to welcome the first residents.

Similarly, Mr. MéI said that a lady has been appointed Principal of this secondary school and that certain teachers and educators who have been assigned there since the start of the 2021-2022 school year have been temporarily reassigned to the modern high school of Guiglo, in waiting for the next school year.

Satisfied with the construction work of this college, Ms. Ouloto gave instructions for the dormitories and playgrounds to be delivered before the end of the current school year. At the end of the visit to these three construction sites, the President of the Regional Council declared that she was happy because “these construction sites are, for her, the symbol of the affection of the President of the Republic, Alassane Ouattara, for the Cavally region. » “She expressed the wish not to have to visit these sites again, but would rather, within a reasonable time, caress the happy pleasure of the inauguration ceremonies.”
