Côte d’Ivoire-AIP/ Le préfet du Hambol initie un concours de dictée dans le primaire et le secondaire
The prefect of the Hambol region, prefect of Katiola, Clément Kouamé Bi Kalou, initiated, on Saturday May 13, 2023, a dictation competition, at the end of which the best schoolchildren and college students will be rewarded on August 7, during the celebration of the 63rd anniversary of the independence of Côte d’Ivoire.
A total of 35 students, including 28 girls, including five schoolgirls from the 2nd year middle school (CM2), took part in the launch of the competition, at the modern college of Katiola
Through this project, the prefect intends not only to reward the best students but also to contribute to raising the level of learners in French through dictation.
For its implementation, the prefect of Katiola relied on the regional directorate of National Education and Literacy (DRENA) of Katiola, the practical organization of the competition being entrusted to the Antenne de la pédagogie et Continuing Education (APFC) in Katiola, led by Adou Kobéna Yao.
The organizers relied on the regional results of the Paul Gérin-Lajoie Foundation (PGL) national dictation competition held in April 2023.
Dictation helps to improve spelling and better understand the grammatical rules of the French language, according to the head of the APFC of Katiola, Inspector General Adou Kobéna Yao, who congratulated the prefect Bi Kaou for the initiative.
“It’s also a great way to sharpen your listening comprehension, vocabulary and conjugation,” he concluded.
