Abidjan, Apr 04, 2022 (AIP)- The members of the Nawa regional council approved, during their first ordinary session of the year 2022, Wednesday March 30 in Soubré, the management of the 2021 budget executed by the president of the regional institution, Alain-Richard Donwahi.
Thus, in 2021, investment expenditure was executed at 27.68%.
This low figure is mainly explained by the difficulties in implementing certain old projects whose carry-overs constitute a “burden” for the Nawa regional council, reports an information note sent to the AIP.
To settle the situation of overdue markets, President Alain-Richard Donwahi, also Minister of Water and Forests, opted for the termination of contracts with companies that were unable to meet their commitments.
This decision will make it possible to reallocate these contracts to more reactive companies which will be able to carry out the development projects of the regional council of Nawa promised to the populations.
The 2nd vice-president, Didier Gbogou, chairing this session, invited the regional advisers to be the spokespersons of the Nawa regional council with the populations.
The regional prefect, Messamba Koné, was delighted with the excellent work done by the council, despite the difficulties encountered in the execution of the projects.
He reaffirmed the availability and support of the prefectural body in all development actions.
The 2022 budget of the Nawa Regional Council amounts to nearly four billion FCFA. It is up 21.88% compared to that of 2021.
