Abidjan, The leader of the Patriotic Movement for Safeguarding and Restoration (MPSR), Lieutenant-Colonel Paul-Henri Sandaogo Damiba, on Monday, January 24, 2022, suspended the Burkinabè Constitution and took other measures following the coup against President Roch Marc Christian Kaboré.
“People of Burkina Faso, fellow citizens and friends of Burkina Faso, the MPSR brings to the attention of national and international opinion that the Constitution is suspended, the government is dissolved, the air and land borders are closed as of January 24, 2022 at midnight until further notice,” said MPSR spokesperson Captain Sidsoré Kader Ouedraogo, reading press release number 2. He also announced the establishment of a curfew from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. .
