Côte d’Ivoire-AIP Fifteen Goh women’s associations receive 30 million FCFA in funding from the MO Business project
Fifteen presidents of legally constituted women’s associations of Gôh, received on Saturday April 15, 2023 in Gagnoa, checks for a total amount of 30 million CFA francs, to finance the income-generating activities of their members, from the hands of the Minister of Solidarity and the fight against poverty, Myss Belmonde Dogo.
Even if your husband insists, don’t give it to him, it’s your capital, defended the Minister of Solidarity. She reminded each of the presidents that each association has a check for two million FCFA. It’s not free. It is a loan, which we will have to work to repay, so that other associations can also benefit from it, ”she said.
The MO Business project was set up by the Ministry of Commerce to support women’s associations in different regions of Côte d’Ivoire. The initial amount granted to the department of Gagnoa was 20 million CFA francs. The Minister, in her capacity as a framework for the region, added the sum of ten million CFA francs.
While welcoming the associations whose files have been retained by the allocation committee, Myss Belmonde expressed her conviction that the women of the Gagnoa sub-prefectures will be able to meet the challenge of reimbursement.
The project was officially presented to the women on Saturday, April 1, during a ceremony at the Gagnoa multipurpose home, in the presence of Ms. Dogo.
The representative of the Ministry of Commerce, Touré Ousmane Junior, announced that the amount allocated to all the associations in the Gôh region is 56 million FCFA.
In total, to date, the Mo-Business project has already benefited more than 3,000 women in several regions of Côte d’Ivoire.
