The anti-drug cell proceeded, Wednesday December 8, 2021, in Dimbokro, to the incineration of 164kg of drugs of all kinds, during a ceremony, in the presence of the head of the anti-drug section. -drug from Abidjan, Captain N’guesssan Bi, and a representative of the local section of the tribunal.
This quantity which was seized over the period from January to December 2021 is composed of 89.2 g of heroin, 32.63 kg of cannabis, 130.84 kg of substandard and falsified drugs and 4 g of heroin, all of an estimated value of 2 million FCFA, explained the head of the general service of the anti-drug cell of Dimbokro, the adjutant, Koffi Brou Jean Charles.
Warrant Officer Koffi Brou noted the criminal nature of the sales activities and consumption of these products which, he said, have grown since the post-electoral crisis of 2011 in the country and particularly in the N’zi and the Moronou. He certified that they promote the spread of various offenses including armed robbery, rape, prostitution and juvenile delinquency.
Mr. Koffi deplored the strong involvement of young people, especially pupils and students, in these criminal activities of selling and consuming drugs. He called on the populations to come together to fight against this scourge which undermines society. The cell pleaded for the provision of means of mobility and didactic material for the continuing training of men.
In 2018, the Dimbokro anti-drug cell seized 80.603 kg of drugs composed of 59.4 kg of cannabis, 21.2 kg of pharmaceutical products not registered in Côte d’Ivoire, 15 diazepam tablets and 5 ephedrine tablets. It also arrested 12 people in connection with the various operations which were referred to the courts of Bongouanou and Dimbokro
