Côte d’Ivoire-AIP/ Collective breaking of the Muslim fast to strengthen living together between communities in Duékoué

The prefect of the Guémon region, prefect of the department of Duékoué, Ibrahima Cissé, organized, on Saturday March 25, 2023, at his residence, a collective breaking of the Muslim fast with all layers of its administrative district, with a view to promoting and strengthening social cohesion and living together. For Mr. Cissé, the meaning of this collective rupture is sharing, the month of Ramadan being a moment of sharing with his co-religionists and with the faithful of other religious denominations. “The objective required by this initiative is twofold. Indeed, we lead the prayer with our Muslim co-religionists and we invite the heads of villages and communities, the directors and heads of services to create a symbiosis, a beautiful atmosphere in the sole interest of strengthening social cohesion and living together. here in Duékoué, and throughout Guémon,” he said. Before pointing out that their role as prefectural authority, representative of the Head of State, is to promote living together, cohesion between communities. Ibrahima Cissé indicated that this is an articulation of his vision of living together, and meant that the collective breaking of the fast, like fitness walking, the monthly color salute ceremony, serves to bring the populations of Duékoué closer together. While believing he knows that “when people are close, it can break down prejudices, a lot of barriers and it avoids, above all, a lot of unnecessary conflicts.” Ramadan 2023 began on Thursday and will end on Friday, April 21.
