Côte d’Ivoire-AIP/ A safe New Year’s Eve in Yopougon

Songon, The elements of the Yopougon police district police and the gendarmes ensured the security of the town during New Year’s Eve, as part of the security operation called ” Mirador 2022”, noted the AIP on the spot.

On the night of December 31, 2022 to January 1 , 2022, the police deployed in all places of worship, Catholic parishes, Baptist and Evangelical churches.

The maquis and bars have benefited from the same security system. The police and the gendarmes also carried out patrols, crossing all the arteries of the commune of Yopougon.

Around 17,000 members of the security forces are deployed to secure the end-of-year celebrations as part of operation “Mirador 2022”, implemented by the General Staff of the Armed Forces.

The operation essentially puts the first category forces (police and gendarmerie) on the front line. As for the military, they monitor the borders in addition to supporting the security forces.

During this security operation, the main mode of action of the police was to ensure the security of the areas of rejoicing, places of worship, large gatherings and sites of attraction, security of the axes long-distance calls, traffic regulation in urban areas and repression of offenses on the public highway.
