Officers from the Grand Lahou police station (south, Grands Ponts region) and their colleagues from Dabou have dismantled a network of motorcycle thieves, thus putting five individuals, arrested and transferred to the Dabou Remand and Correctional Center.
The network of motorcycle thieves was neutralized on Friday March 31, 2023, following two alerts given by two victims, after the disappearance of their two-wheeled vehicles, a ”KTM” and an ”APSONIC”.
The department’s criminal police chased the two stolen motorcycles, occupied by individuals other than their owners, on Monday, March 27.
The occupant of the “KTM”, Fanny Adama, nicknamed “Bassam”, was arrested in the locality of Ira, 40 kilometers from Grand Lahou. He allowed the police to catch his accomplice, Koné Aboudrama, in his hiding place, with the help of the Dabou national police.
In-depth investigations by the police led to three other arrests, including one in Dabou, another in Irobo, and the last in Grand Lahou. According to police sources, a last member of the motorcycle thieves is on the run.
Among the individuals arrested, Koné Aboudrama, alias Aboudra, and the nicknamed Bassam, are known in the court files to have been there many times, with the key to stays in prison. They were referred again on Friday March 31, along with three acolytes, motorcycle mechanics, namely Diaby Sékou, Hien Sié Gédéon, and Sangaré Ibrahim dit IB.
