The professional organization of breeders of Ferkessedougou (OPEF), proceeded to the delivery on Saturday March 25 of food and non-food items, to 174 Burkinabe refugees and their guardians settled in the village of Touplevogo located in the department of Ferkessedougou. This donation is made up of food, maintenance and berths. With the crisis situation in neighboring Burkina Faso, many people have moved in search of greater security. It was good that our organization, which has relays in the West African sub-region, came to their aid with just enough to live on temporarily,” said REPOT project coordinator, Amadou Zanafango Coulibaly. He specified that the donation takes into account not only the refugees but also the guardians who were kind enough to welcome them. The President of OPEF, Bocoum Moussa praised the resilience of the populations of Touplevogo. According to him, this donation operation will continue in the villages which have welcomed refugees from neighboring countries, among others the villages of Tiepogovo, Fangakaha, Nambonkaha in the department of Ferkessedougou as well as those who have arrived in the commune. The secretary general of the prefecture of Ferkessedougou, Tapé Laba, representing the prefect of the Tchologo region, welcomed the initiative of OPEF. The REPOT project aims to strengthen social cohesion and improve the resilience of rural populations, in particular farmers and agro-pastoralists in precarious situations in the border regions of the three aforementioned countries. It is implemented by the Acting For Life consortium and local professional organisations, including OPEF. It benefits from the financial support of the crisis and support center of the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs of France for a period of 18 months.
