China to offer 60,000 places for training African women and youth


Chinese authorities will provide training opportunities to more than 60,000 people from African countries, mainly women and youth representatives. This was stated by Chinese President Xi Jinping, the Russian News Agency reports.

‘We will provide Africa with 60,000 training positions, mainly for women and youth representatives,’ announced Chinese President Xi Jinping.

“Together with the African side, China will more actively implement the cooperation plan “Avenir de l’Afrique: formation professionnelle” (Africa’s Future: Vocational Training),” he said at the opening ceremony of the ninth summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC).

The Chinese leader added that his country plans to establish an engineering technology academy with Africa, jointly launch the Cultural Silk Road program, a cooperation initiative in the field of innovations in radio, television and audiovisual broadcasting. “The parties

agreed that 2026 will be declared the year of China-Africa people-to-people contacts,” he said.

he Forum on China-Africa Cooperation has been hosted by China and African states since 2000. It is held alternately in Beijing and the capital of a country on the African continent.

It is an important platform for enhancing China’s economic, political and cultural influence in Africa. One of the main objectives of the forum is to promote projects within the framework of the New Silk Road Initiative.

The seventh forum was held in September 2018 in the Chinese capital and the eighth was held in November 2021 in Dakar.
