Burkina: Defense-Security framework work executed from 36 to 79% in the first half of 2024


Ouagadougou: The Defense-Security sectoral dialogue framework achieved in the first half of 2024, a physical execution rate of 36 to 79% of its activities, compared to a financial execution rate of 23.82%.

‘This review of the sectoral Defense-Security dialogue framework is devoted to examining the mid-term assessment of the year 2024 of the actions carried out in our planning sector,’ declared the representative of the Minister in charge of National Defense , Colonel-Major Alain Ollo Palé.

According to him, the departments responsible for National Defense and Security achieved a physical execution rate of 36 to 79% in the fight against insecurity with a financial execution rate of 23.82% in the first half of the year 2024.

Colonel-Major Palé, chief of staff of the department in charge of National Defense, spoke on Friday in Ouagadougou during a review of the sectoral framework for Defense-Security dialogue on the mid-term assessment of the year in course.

He also welcomed the mobilization of actors from t
he two ministries, demonstrating their interest in the implementation of the action plan for stabilization and development, a guide for State interventions.

‘The framework is a forum for all stakeholders to assess the state of implementation of the planned actions and allows us to learn lessons from our requirements, assess the results achieved and identify prospects for the last semester,’ a- he argued.

Colonel-Major Alain Ollo Palé noted that despite the persistence of terrorist attacks, actions were carried out with victories recorded on the ground by the fighting forces.

‘Despite the multiple obstacles that punctuated our path throughout the first half of the year, we remained determined, committed, resilient and convinced of our noble vision, that of fighting terrorism to its last entrenchment,’ he said. he says.

Listening to him, the government’s vision is to ensure security for all communities and their property in this context of insecurity in Burkina Faso.

As part of the activities carried out,
he focused, among other things, on the holding of days of patriotic commitment and citizen participation from March 26 to April 9, 2024, the national meetings on May 25 to decide on the life of the Transition , and the day of customs and traditions on May 15.

The chief of staff of the ministry in charge of National Defense highlighted the strengthening of the operational capacities of the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) and the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP).

‘I would like to invite all actors and partners who are members of the Defense-Security sectoral dialogue framework to remain mobilized and to demonstrate greater commitment in the implementation of our sectoral action plan for the last half of the year,’ he wished.
