Bungoma Governor Welcomes Japanese Ambassador in Historic Visit

Bungoma, Kenya – In a significant diplomatic engagement, Bungoma Governor Ken Lusaka today hosted Japan’s Ambassador to Kenya, Ken Okaniwa, at the county headquarters. This visit marks a historic moment as Kenya and Japan celebrate 60 years of their bilateral relationship.

According to Kenya News Agency, Bungoma, as a border county, has greatly benefited from Japan’s investments in various sectors including education and infrastructure. Expressing his gratitude, Lusaka highlighted his commitment to strengthening and expanding the partnership with Japan. He emphasized the importance of this relationship in enhancing Technical Vocational and Education Training (TVET) institutions and developing the Industrial Park in the county. “This visit by the Ambassador is historic to our county, as we celebrate the long-standing ties with Japan. We look forward to tapping into their great pool of networks for the common good of our people,” he stated. The event was also attended by National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula and other local leaders.
