AIP/ Mabri Toikeusse received by Ouattara, peace and national cohesion at the center of discussions

Abidjan, March 22, 2022 (AIP)- The President of the Union for Democracy and Peace (UDPCI), Dr. Albert Mabri Toikeusse was received in audience, Tuesday, March 22, 2022, at the Presidential Palace in Abidjan Plateau, by the President Alassane Ouattara, noted the AIP.

During this interview, the recommendations of the political dialogue relating to the Independent Electoral Commission (CEI), peace, national cohesion and “a major concern of the UDPCI concerning General Robert Guéï “.

Subjects relating to local development were also discussed, explained the president of the Regional Council of Tonpki, saying he was happy to be reunited with President Ouattara.

Former ally of President Alassane Ouattara, Mr. Mabri Toikeusse had fallen out with the ruling party, the Rally of Houphouetists for Democracy and Peace (RHDP), during the 2020 electoral crisis.

However, he stressed when he left the audience with the Head of State that the return of his party to the RDHP was not mentioned during these exchanges. “In any case, we are between Ivorian actors, political actors, and I believe that each debate has its time”, he specified, marking “all (his) interest” for national reconciliation.

Dr. Albert Mabri Toikeusse has been the president of the UDPCI since April 10, 2005. He held several ministerial positions between 2003 and 2020, including those of Planning and Development, Transport, Foreign Affairs and Cooperation and African integration.
