Ivory Coast-AIP / The populations of Jacqueville sensitized on the importance of the “social regime for self-employed workers”
The populations of Jacqueville were sensitized, from June 15 to 17, 2021, on the importance of the “social regime for self-employed workers” (RSTI), a product of the National Social Security Fund (CNPS), made available to them, in order to contribute to the fight against poverty in this locality.
The marketing manager at the CNPS, Looky Eric Quentin, noted that this project is a social cover intended to protect its members in the event of illness, accident or maternity, after only nine months of contribution.
For him, the new regime also gives the possibility to the farmer, the artist, the transporter, the sportsman, the mining operator, the non-salaried company director, the consultant, the trader, the liberal and the religious guide to guarantee a decent old age after the age of 60.
According to Mr. Looky, just as after 10 months of contribution a daily allowance equivalent to 50% of the declared income is paid to the sick member for more than 14 days or injured within the limit of 90,000 FCFA per month for three months.
He said that the self-employed, through their income-generating activities, strongly contribute to the country’s economy, but are often left behind. It is to repair this injustice that the government has thought of putting in place this system, in order to repair the damage long caused to this class of contributors to the development of the country.
Reason for which, he invited them to adopt this discovery of the State in order to reduce the rate of poverty of the retirees and to allow the beneficiaries to ensure their old age.
Register with the CNPS by specifying the profession and the amount that you undertake to pay each month, pay your contributions each month, fulfill for each social benefit, the conditions provided by law, are the conditions to benefit from the benefits social aspects of RSTI, we note.
