The president of the Professional Association of Banks and Financial Institutions of Côte d’Ivoire (APBEFCI), Daouda Coulibaly has been elected as the new president of the Regional Consular Chamber of the West African Monetary Union (CCR -UEMOA) Monday, May 31, 2021, during the 21st General Assembly of this institution in Abidjan.
The only candidate in the running, Daouda Coulibaly was brought to the head of the management team of the CCR-UEMOA for a three-year term. He obtained 49 votes out of 54, and five blank ballots.
He succeeds Burkinabè Kouafilann Abdoulaye Sory, who has been president of the regional consular chamber since 2017.
The list of members of the new office as well as technical commissions were unveiled during this meeting chaired by the Ivorian Minister of Economy and Finance, Adama Coulibaly.
The CCR-UEMOA is a consultative body, whose main mission is to ensure the effective involvement of the private sector in the process of integration of the Union.
