Cte d’Ivoire-AIP / The 60 years of the AIP confirm the continuity of its “long radiant march towards progress” (Director)

The central director of the Ivorian Press Agency (AIP), Oumou Barry Sana, hopes that in future, the agency continues its “long march towards progress radiant” as a prelude to the celebration, these Wednesday 02 and Thursday 03 June 2021, of the sixtieth anniversary of the first press organ of independent Côte d’Ivoire.

“I hope for the years to come that the AIP will continue its long, radiant march towards progress for the happiness of all with an even stronger commitment of the staff to give the best of themselves,” said Ms. Barry.

She believes that the constant and remarkable presence of the AIP in the field shows its usefulness in society and its capacity to regenerate and adapt to the evolution of the technological world and the changing ecosystem of the media.

The central director of the AIP maintains that the major innovations, notably through the establishment of a creative and participative management with a great sense of listening and an improvement of the working and living conditions of the staff, as well as the implementation of new focused methods on the practice of the profession and the online posting of information in real time, as well as on-call duty at home thanks to the granting of laptops and internet keys, facilitate proactivity and effectiveness of heads of regional offices and correspondents.

Since January 2013, the AIP has benefited from new resources with the group subscription of the Government, Côte d’Ivoire embassies abroad and regional Prefects, as well as the creation of a sub-directorate for communication and marketing.

Ms. Oumou Sana recalled that on November 16 and 17, 2016, the IPA’s first participation in the World Congress of News Agencies, a benchmark body where professional strategic partnerships are forged, promoted training in the form of communications given on news topics related to the evolution of information technologies, in particular new media, infox or fake news and artificial intelligence

In January 2020, it received the favorable opinion of the Ministry of the Public Service for the decoration of 15 AIP agents in the Orders of Merit of the Public Service. “I am still waiting, if it pleases God, 19 other agents who will be decorated as part of this 60th anniversary of the AIP,” she said.

Ms. Barry also dwelled on her coronation at the National Award of Excellence for Best Communicator in 2016. “I was very honored by this high distinction and, through me, the entire AIP for the work done in these conditions. difficult with at the beginning, only one computer at the editorial office and reports on foot in the Plateau. Thank you very much to the agents for the sacrifice made because, without it, we would not have obtained anything. This represents the fruit of work carried out with passion, abnegation and dedication over many years, ”says the director.

The spirit of creativity, when resources are insufficient, and the commitment made by the staff to help them succeed in their mission of raising the structure of which they say they are “a member first and foremost” are the secret that earned them this award. ‘Excellency.

“I appeal to work with abnegation, creativity, enthusiasm and I rely on the support of the staff and the hierarchy because it is a chain that must always remain united,” she concludes.
