Côte d’Ivoire wants a PND meeting the challenges of consolidating its position in the sub-region
The Government wants to have a 2021-2025 Development Plan (PND) that is the response to the challenges that Côte d’Ivoire must face to consolidate its position in the sub-region, in Africa and in the world, said Wednesday, June 9, 2021, the Minister of Planning and Development, Kaba Nialé.
“The implementation of this third five-year plan should lead to an improvement in the economic and social landscape of the country, in particular through an economic, social and structural transformation making it possible to raise Côte d’Ivoire to the rank of middle- income countries of the country. upper slice in 2030 ”, indicated the Minister at the end of the workshop to take into account the comments of the stakeholders in the finalization of the 3rd PND.
Thus, for Kaba Nialé, the important contributions of stakeholders including technical and financial partners, civil society, the private sector and the academic world will improve the PND project and provide Côte d’Ivoire with a robust strategy, capable of supporting its ambitions.
Stakeholder observations, reviewed during the work, will ensure consistency between PND projects and the sequencing of priority reforms over the 2021-2025 period.
According to the Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), Carol Flore-Smereczniak, with the participation of all stakeholders, the transversal consideration of gender and climate change issues, and the participation of the parties stakeholders in the PND monitoring and evaluation mechanism, the government creates a favorable environment for a better operationalization of this Plan.
A 2021-2025 PND framework was brought to the attention of technical and financial partners, the private sector and civil society, who each provided comments on the six pillars of the PND, in May 2021.
