Aboisso, June 30, 2021 (AIP) -The regional prefect, prefect of the department of Aboisso, Coulibaly Gando, called on the populations of the sub-prefecture of Kouakro for peace and cohesion for the development of their locality, Wednesday June 30, 2021.

For the regional prefect, peace and work constitute the fundamentals of development. He urged all sections of the population to subscribe to peace. This peace is a sine qua non for development, the prefectural authority informed the populations.

Mr. Coulibaly called for abandoning the chieftaincy quarrels and for abandoning any idea of ​​dismissing village chiefs, auxiliaries of the administration. He explained that this power returns to the administration once a chief receives an appointment decree from the prefect.

The president of the Sud-Comoé regional council, Dr Aka Aouélé welcomed the prefect’s peace initiatives. He also called on the Kouakro sub-prefecture for peace, in order to achieve the development he craves.

The sub-prefecture of Kouakro has experienced dissensions linked to the succession to the chiefdom, we note.

Prefect Coulibaly Gando initiated a tour of making contact in the sub-prefectures of the department of Aboisso. Besides the Kouakro stage, he has already visited the sub-prefectures of Adaou, Adjouan Bianouan, Yaou and Ayamé.
