The building housing the library of the Nianda-Kanga Nianzé school group, in the commune of N’Douci, has been rehabilitated and equipped by non-governmental organizations (NGOs) as part of a project baptized “Yessouan”
The keys were handed over on Wednesday June 16, 2021, in the presence of the municipal authorities. On behalf of the NGOs (Pan-African emergency, Blalê and Action library), Tingué Foué, said he chose the village of Kanga Nianzé because of the symbol it represents in the history of slavery, but also to instill in the students the taste for reading. For him, “it is with great pleasure” that their NGOs contribute to the promotion of reading which is “the basis of school learning”.
The mayor of N’Douci, Golé Marcellin, expressed his gratitude to the three NGOs and hoped to have a partnership with them to equip others.
The Nianda-Kanga Nianzé library was built and equipped with furniture by the Agneby-Tiassa regional council in 2016. It has remained closed until then. Its rehabilitation and its equipment at nearly one million FCFA mark the start of its operation, with the promise of the three NGOs and the mayor to endow it with more books.
